MICHAEL K. FISHER
He has extensive experience in tax and financial planning, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Industries served include construction, manufacturing, retailing, agribusiness, oil and gas, financial institutions, real estate, entertainment and franchises. Mike graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree majoring in accounting and joined KPMG Peat Marwick in 1968 and shortly thereafter became a Certified Public Accountant. He was a partner in that firm for 10 years before joining Price Waterhouse in 1986 and relocating to Bakersfield. On May 1, 1990, Mike Fisher and Alan Keathley acquired a major portion of the practice of the Bakersfield office of Price Waterhouse and merged with another accounting firm that is now known as Fisher, Keathley & Ross. In addition to publishing a paper and delivering a dissertation on valuing closely held businesses to a prestigious school of law, he has published a bi-weekly tax column for a state wide weekly business newspaper. He has also lectured on several professional topics for different state societies of CPA's as part of their continuing education programs. Mike has been very involved in various civic, social and professional activities including the Boy Scouts, Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Junior Achievement and Historic Restoration. Mike is a member of the American Institute of CPA's and has been a member of several state societies of CPA's. In addition, he has been involved with various trade associations such as those associated with oil and gas, construction, agriculture, financial institutions and cooperatives. Mike enjoys spending some of his leisure time playing golf, camping and fishing. |
